Happy New Year Day: It is the first day of English New Year. People celebrate this day by following Gregorian calendar. It is Uganda public holidays most of the countries of the world. In 2017 Happy New Year is on Sunday and many countries observe the following day as holiday. People of this country get one day vacation for this day.

Archbishop Janani Luwum Day: Janani Luwum was very famous person of Uganda. He was killed in 1977. People celebrate Uganda public holidays for giving respect to this person. There is a fixed date for celebrating this day. Every year people celebrate this day in 16th February. People get one day vacation for this day.

Women’s Day: It is an International holiday. The UN declared 8th March as International Holiday. Since this declaration people over the whole world celebrate this day. People of this country get one day vacation for this day. If this day falls on a weekend, vacation for this day will be moved to the following day.

Good Friday: This day celebrate before Easter Sunday. People get one day vacation for this day. This day is only celebrated by Christian religion people. Every year they celebrate this day by doing many special tasks and arranging many programs.

Eid-Ul-Fitr: This day is special day for Islam religion people. It is their main festival. People get three days vacation for this day. This day celebrate every year at the end of Ramadan. This day hasn’t a fixed date for celebrating. It fully depends on moon.

Eid-Ul-Adha: It is another main festival of Islam religion people. This day hasn’t a fixed date for celebrating. Actually, it depends on moon. People celebrate this day on 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah every year.

Christmas Day: Actually, it is main and the largest festival of Christian religion people. Every year they celebrate their main festival in 25th December. Over 2 million people celebrate this day. People get one day vacation for this day. They arrange many programs for this festival.
