Consequently, Persian New Year will be celebrated in 20th March in 2017. First of all, I must say the meaning of Nowruz. The meaning of the word is ‘Now’ means new and ‘Ruz’ means day. It is the day of Vernal equinox. The Persian New Year also celebrated in Iran, Albania, Azerbaijan, China, Turkey, India, Russia etc. Generally, it is celebrated in 20th March of every year.

Nowruz is the most important holiday in Iran and it marks the national holiday. In this auspicious day the people of china practicing to plant trees, keeping the house clean, dig up canals and making special dish for the visitors. There are some traditional customs to celebrate the Nowroz New Year.

  • Spring Cleaning Houses- Persian people believed that the Celebration of Nowrouz is the way to forget of all old things and time to welcome all that which is Upcoming. On this day people wear new clothes and adorned by gold and silver Kustis.
  • Meet with friends and family members- On this auspicious day people meet with their friends, relatives and special person. They give each other greeting cards. They also carry sweets or something when they visit the homes of friends or relatives.
  • Persian Parties- on the eve of Persian New Year people visitis their family and friends home. They organized a few quite numbers of parties.
  • Picnic- At the last day of Nowruz celebration people organize a picnic to take fresh air and for refreshment. The Persain people called it by Sizad Er Bar.
  • Singing- Nowruz symbols a time for a beginning. People sing songs for happiness.
  • Bonfire- On every road people organize bonfire where people performed by dancing and singing. They jump over the fire.

Making Sweetmeats and serving- on this particular day women of house prepare sweetmeats. Children to adult knock the door for sweetmeats.
